I still remember walking into my cosmetology class in 2010—a wide-eyed high school student, full of excitement and a little fear. Everything was new: the smells, the tools, the endless possibilities. I was eager, but I quickly learned that passion alone doesn’t make the path easy.

I had to take my licensing exam three times before passing. That experience humbled me, taught me perseverance, and gave me a deep understanding of what it feels like to struggle and keep pushing forward.

After earning my license, I stepped behind the chair, learning firsthand what it means to serve clients, build trust, and grow in a professional environment. I worked my way up to management, gaining lessons in leadership, patience, and dedication that no textbook could teach. Every client, every challenge shaped me—not just as a stylist, but as a person.

After years behind the chair, I realized I needed something more fulfilling. I wanted to share my love for this craft and guide others along the way. In 2015, I was given the incredible opportunity to become an Educational Intern at the Aveda Institute. I was blessed to be surrounded by mentors who believed in me even when I doubted myself. They taught me techniques, teaching strategies, and the art of inspiring confidence in others. Learning to teach adults was challenging, but their support lit a fire in me. They showed me what passion, dedication, and belief in others truly look like—and their lessons are the foundation of everything I do today. For seven years, I worked as an Educator at Aveda, and I will forever be grateful for everything I learned.

In 2022, I had the opportunity to create a new chapter for myself. I was given a lead role in program management and curriculum development, allowing me to take everything I had learned from my past experiences and use it to mentor and shape those around me. Through this journey, I noticed something important: there’s a gap between finishing school and stepping into licensing and the professional world. I saw it in my students. I lived it myself. I knew there had to be a bridge—a place where students could feel prepared, confident, and supported.

That realization inspired me to create Hairology Pro. My mission is simple: to give students the guidance, mentorship, and confidence I wish I had when I was in their shoes. I want every student to feel seen, supported, and ready to succeed—not just in passing their PSI exam, but in thriving in their career.

I also want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported me along the way—my mentors, colleagues, family, and every teacher who believed in me. You have shaped me into the educator I am today, and it is my honor to pay it forward to every student who walks through Hairology Pro.

Because at the end of the day, this is more than education—it’s about empowerment, growth, and helping others reach their dreams. That has always been, and will always be, my heart in this work.
